DevOps Engineer

Is DevOps a role or not a role? That is the question... We don’t really have the answer to it, but what we do have (what we believe we have) is the answer to getting rid of fossil fuels and transitioning towards a sustainable world!

To succeed in our journey towards a world without fossil fuel, we are growing our tech-department from 15 to 30 to be able to do all the cool things we want to do. That is why we need YOU, who understand and who is working with DevOps, who can structure our cloud-infrastructure and who enjoys automating all the things that is possible.

What can be said about the tech-department?
As we are writing this job post, we are 15 developers (plus consultants) divided in 3,5 teams. We have our App-team, our Backend-team, our Site-team and our Virtual Power Plant (which is still just half a team right now). You as a DevOps-engineer will be working across the teams. You will set up our AWS-platform, working with CI/CD, Testing and Automation.

Svea Solar is a company that is rapidly growing, and our Tech-department is still in its early stage. So, if you like a high-tempo environment and you’re okay with everything isn’t in place just yet, then Svea Solar could be a great match for you! Even though we focus a lot on your personality and that you can create good vibes together with your colleagues, we still need a person with experience working with DevOps in the cloud.

What we believe is important to have to succeed in this role:
Experience in code development in at least one object-oriented programming language.

Experience with automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation, Terraform, or other tools.

Experience developing cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tools, such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Code Deploy (AWS) and/or GitHub/GitLab.

Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.

Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.
