DevOps Engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Welcome to a rapidly growing international company, thriving at the forefront of cutting edge technology. Westermo develops and manufactures advanced devices for industrial data communication, used in mission-critical installations and harsh industrial environments. The very robust and secure communication networks built with our products provide a high value for our customers.

We are focused on leveraging growth opportunities in our market and are devoted to delivering the world's best industrial networks. This is achieved through a very dynamic work environment where teamwork and loyalty are valued. Strong and honest relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers are important to us. We have an open culture where we share knowledge, learn from one another and explore new ideas, allowing us to constantly improve.

Westermo provides networking solutions for some of the most demanding applications imaginable, from onboard trains to the bottom of the ocean floor. We measure uptime in years. To deliver that kind of reliability, we build our software on one of the most battle-hardened technologies in existence: the Linux kernel. We strive to use Open Source components whenever possible. We act as responsible members of the communities by contributing back the changes and improvements we make. As we are increasing the scope for the Dev Ops team by including our Automatic Test Framework Tool, and making implementations in our internal IT department, we need to further strengthen our Dev Ops with one more person to join our team of two Dev Ops Engineers.

Are you our new Dev Ops Engineer?

As a Dev Ops Engineer at Westermo, you and your closest colleagues are responsible for development and maintenance for systems and servers used by the R&D Software teams; building, deploying and automatic testing of software.

As our new Dev Ops Engineer, you will belong to the Dev Ops team, but in this particular role, you will have a special connection to the IT department, as a Linux Specialist. The vast majority of our Developers work in Linux all day long, but a lot of IT systems and tools are not made for Linux. We want you to be the Linux-spokesperson, making sure that we make life easy for our Linux-users when we implement or develop tools in the company.

You will also have the opportunity to work on process development, deployment and maintenance of new & existing external non SaaS cloud based IT environments (primarily Azure but also AWS).

So, who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Linux-enthusiast who embodies the Open Source idea of “sharing is caring”. You like to keep yourself up to date on new methods and tools and you are attentive to trends and new ideas. Besides having ideas, you are also comfortable bringing them up with your colleagues and you are good at taking input from others to make further suggestions. You will enjoy working with us if you are creative team player with a desire to bring ideas to life and buy-in to the importance of flow and high quality.

Requirements:

- Experienced in using and configuring Linux systems
- Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker images
- Experience in virtual environments
- Experience in cloud solutions
- Academic degree in computer science or adequate work experience.

Meritorious:

- Experience of Azure (setup, configuration etc.)

In return, we offer: You will be working at the forefront of technology in a friendly, open culture where we you get the opportunity to learn from skilled colleagues every day. A mature and caring leadership in a flat organization. Through our collective bargain agreement you will be covered in terms of insurance, pension and other benefits. We like to have fun together and we regularly enjoy sports and other social activities as a team. We believe that magic happens when people meet. We are a learning organization and we truly love to try new things, think outside the box and be innovative together!

- Location: Kopparlunden, Västerås
