About the Installation Services Team

As part of the Integration Services department, the Installations Team’s mission is to deliver a premium end-to-end integration experience to our customers. We are responsible for installing new renewable assets, such as wind or solar sites, onto the Greenbyte platform. Also, we take care of the operational environment for the installation process and data ingestion infrastructure.

We are made up of hard-working, fun-loving people who are passionate about making the world better. We are a very international team spread across multiple locations, with a team spirit that is truly hard to beat! We work with agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum.

What will you be doing?

Your primary focus will be to operate, support and improve Greenbyte’s data ingestion infrastructure. It today consists of 30+ AWS hosted Windows and Ubuntu servers, running a large variety of services and protocols, to receive and pre-process data from more than 70000+ renewable energy assets. Overall, you will help us to continue building a cloud-native, secure and scalable data ingestion infrastructure!

You will also form part of Greenbyte’s cross-departmental on-call team, responsible for handling critical incidents during out-of-office hours.

Finally, you will perform installations of renewable energy assets from time-to-time.

It goes without saying that you’ll get to know the renewable energy industry, are able to develop your skills further through internal and external learning events, and interact with our lovely customers.

Who are we looking for?

To thrive in this role we think you have 5+ years of experience, and enjoy, and
in working with:

- Cloud infrastructure administration (AWS preferred)
- Windows and Linux server administration
- System automation and Python development

In addition to this, we see it as an extra plus if you have experience with the following:

- Network administration (StrongSwan, OpenVpn, etc.)
- Industry protocols: OPC, Modbus, Ejabberd, IEC104, RestAPI’s etc.
- Database Administration (MySQL, AWS Aurora)
- IaC / Configuration management tools (AWS CDK, Ansible, etc.)
- Bash / Shell scripts
- Infrastructure and Application monitoring (DataDog, etc.)

We are looking for a team member who is self-driven and has a strong sense of accountability. You enjoy working on both day-to-day operational activities and on long-term strategic topics and continuous improvements. You are always on the lookout for automation possibilities and have fun working in an international and agile environment.
