What Do We Offer
Charging is a fast-evolving area within electric vehicles and a key part in making electric cars more accessible to a larger customer group. In Volvo Cars determination to achieve this we want to develop smart solutions, sophisticated communication and SW strategies as well as outstanding diagnostic functionality. The Charging department at Volvo Cars strives for working with the latest available technology and tools to be at the forefront of the technological shift towards electric vehicles.

Our vision is to deliver appropriate Diagnostic functionality for Charging system and continuously evolve our way of working for a higher focus on the product. 
The specific vision of diagnostic is to be even more connected/integrated into the functionality and to increase the charging systems availability and traceability of faults.
Work includes BEV and PHEV specific platforms for all charging standards. 

What will you do
We are looking for an experienced diagnostic engineer for our development projects.
In this role you will be a part of an agile team which is responsible for diagnostics development strategies. The objectives is to meet legislation and our own definition of charging experience with maximized robustness and customer uptime.

Daily tasks is typically:
•    Interpret and break down requirements for all charging standards.
•    Review implementation, documentation and interact with SW developers, both in-house and with suppliers.
•    Involved in data collection and analysis of fault reports and vehicle fleet data.
•    Identify SW function development from a diagnostic perspective and in near future also develop this functionality.
•    Test and verify diagnostics in HIL and vehicle environment as well provide certification documentation.
•    To summarize test result and create defect reports.
•    Take an active part in defining the test plans, test methods and execution of them. 

In the job you will utilize Test vehicles, HIL or test bench setup depending on what is most suited for the test and verification. You will also contribute in the work on Charging data logger, how we can gain more information about customer experience when charging.

Do you fit the profile
We believe that you have at least a B. Sc. degree within engineering, preferably power electronics, embedded system, or equivalent competence.  On top on this, you have some years´ experience from diagnostics work in the automotive industry, test/fault injection, calibration, function developing diagnostic events and services, requirements handling. 

Knowledge and practice of AUTOSAR diagnostic modules and bootloaders, ISO 14229, OBDII and other related legal regulation & requirements is advantageous, as well as knowledge and understanding of HW-circuits. Meritorious if you have previous experience from involvement in Functional Safety activities or Matlab Simulink model based design.

We are a global company so a must for us is that you are fluent in English. Also, you must have a driving license (B), preferably you love cars as much as we do!
