Arbetsbeskrivning
Diagnostics & Service Engineering:
The department in Eskilstuna consists of about 25 people, in various roles such as technical writers, method technicians and diagnostic engineers. The mission is to produce information and tools for operating, servicing, fault-tracing and repairing the products within Volvo Construction Equipment. We are involved in the development of new products together with research & development departments in Sweden, Germany, France, United States, Korea, India, Japan and China. That means occasionally travelling within and outside of Sweden.
Your tasks:
The work as diagnostic engineer includes developing strategies for fault-tracing and testing of the machine's embedded systems. You are driving the improvement of fault-tracing support already during the design stage, by actively working and participating in projects that develop new technologies. Most of all work is done in collaboration with others in the department or in other departments. Therefore, it is essential that you have good cooperative skills, can give and take feedback and deliver according to the plans you make with your colleagues.
Much of the work is to find relevant information and find out how the new system works. The work is largely theoretically-oriented, more than practical. The practical aspects will mostly consist of verification of the machine's functions and the fault-tracing you have developed.
Examples of tasks:
Analyse the machine´s systems (software and hardware in combination) in order to be able to produce drafts for functional descriptions and fault-tracing
Develop tests of the machine's embedded system in dedicated authoring tools
Develop and document the fault-tracing strategies to detect fault codes that are triggered in the machine's systems
Participate in development projects with your knowledge and skills in diagnostics
Formulate requirements and follow up these in projects
Verify the fault-tracing solutions in systems as well as complete machine
Develop/improve working methods/processes and the tools you use, on both local and global level
Your profile:
You have a long experience of similar work or master's/bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training.
You have knowledge of modern vehicle technology and have an interest in machinery and software features.
You find it to be a challenge to find information and to learn new systems and new technologies.
You are a fast learner and open to new things as we are constantly developing our technologies.
You can plan your own work and do your best to complete the tasks on time.
We encourage female applicants!
