Volvo is further increasing focus on diagnostic, OBD and OBM. We are now looking for an experienced System Engineer in the diagnostic infrastructure area. We need someone who is ready to go all the way to anchor solutions that are not only compliant but are also allowing common platform solutions to be used cross projects, cross legislation, cross applications. In this position you will work in the team responsible for the Propulsion Electrical System Platform that is the foundation for both conventional and electromobility drivelines. You will be expected to lead system solution investigations and work with requirements around our in-house developed diagnostic kernel. A big part of the work is network with other stakeholders of the electrical system and work closely with our agile HW and SW development teams.
We are a team of system engineers developing the electrical system in close cooperation with the agile teams developing the control systems. We have a dynamic work environment with the target to develop the most efficient automotive embedded system platform, which is used by more than 500 software and hardware engineers around the world when developing features for our customers.
Main Activities are:
Guide and support the cross functional teams with diagnostic knowledge, etc.
Specify and develop the diagnostic Kernel & Architecture, that shall be applied cross the powertrain & electromobility organization globally.
Define cross ECU diagnostic interface requirements to be supported by both powertrain and vehicle OBD ECUs.
Define the diagnostic roadmap together with other diagnostic experts.
Keep up to date with new diagnostic legal requirements for all markets, ensure best practices and regulatory requirements are met.
Requirements, experiences needed:
10+ year of experience developing diagnostic systems.
Excellent knowledge of On-board Diagnostics
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, interfacing with engineers globally.
Open-minded and pro-active, structured and a drive to take the lead is an advantage.
Minimum Education Required
Master’s Degree in Engineering (Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design or equivalent)
