Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for a digital designer with deep signal integrity competence that wants to join our team in Kista.
The Digital Radio Implementation group belonging to Common Radio Module (CRM) sector and the digital and mixed signal department with PDU Radio, has the responsibility to implement near antenna algorithmic solutions for radio ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) and FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays). The radio System-on-Chip (SoC) is the heart of the Ericsson radio units, which are part of Ericsson’s 2G, 3G, 4G and 5 G base stations. The focus area of the organizational unit is to work with algorithm and verification teams to ensure that the delivered IP fulfils the requirements of the radio solutions the IP will be delivered to.
This position reports to the Unit Manager.

Your primary role will be to work with our digital HW radio development activities at the Ericsson design center in Sweden (Kista) and cooperate with our global sites in China and Canada. You will also have contact with external chipset suppliers to assure that technology development is in sync with Ericsson’s needs.
Your role will include activities such as: Design and simulate PCB and package substrate for upcoming SerDes standards. Produce product documentation as well as interacting with hardware and software design, integration, verification, tools design, and product lifecycle management.

You will:
Develop technical solutions for next generation Radio products
Drive continuous improvements for next generation of Radio products
Drive standardization of next generation SerDes interfaces
Be active part of pre-development group and be driver of studies
Develop competence in technical domain
Evaluate involvement for mixed signal IC


To be successful in the role you have
M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering or similar
8 years in digital HW design, SerDes/high-speed and signal integrity analysis
Product development knowledge
Interest to constantly learn, communicate, interact, share information, and willingness to help
Ability to work in teams with minimal supervision but also ability to take initiative and work independently when needed
Quality approach, ability for strategic thinking and a drive to always improve
Open minded and analytical, problem-solving skills
Sense of ownership, are analytical, structural and result oriented
Creative ideas in finding solutions when lacking information


Additional Knowledge and Requirements:
Deep knowledge of simulation tools (Mentor, Ansys, SiSoft) and familiar with layout and schematic tool (Cadence) and are using them today.
Extensive knowledge in signal and power integrity simulations, and EMC theory
Experience using lab equipment's such as pattern generators, oscilloscope, network analyzer etc.
Deep understanding of electrical performance and limitations such as tradeoff between layout density and crosstalk, and the limitations of PCB technology
