Our team is made up of passionate experts in all areas and levels of Digital Experience Design: Product UX Design, Strategic Experience Design, Data Experience Design, Experience Design Research, Emerging Tech Design, Digital Taxonomy, Content Strategy, Experience Writing, Optimization Writing, Inclusive Design, Design Systems, Motion Design, and Design Ops to hold us all together and keep us efficient.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As the Head of Strategic Experience Design & Research, you will be a senior design leader responsible for our Digital Experience Strategy Center of Expertise, and for directing work and leading your teams in Strategic Experience Design initiatives, Data Experience Design initiatives including IKEA’s Customer Data Promise, Experience Design and UX Research, and Emerging Tech Design initiatives.
You are a passionate, empathetic, seasoned people leader with demonstrated experience scaling and leading human-centered-design teams.
You are passionate about the future and using a variety of design and research methods to bring those strategies to life, always putting the human at the center and creating empathy with them. You are
You are an enterprise thinker and can seamlessly navigate a complex global corporate structure to drive human-centered-design approaches and outcomes into all areas of the business.
You have a strong and compelling leadership portfolio communicating your leadership beliefs, capabilities, content approach, notable career achievements, case studies of your leadership skills, projects your teams have delivered, and more
To succeed in the role, we see that you have experience in many of the following:
• Creating an atmosphere of positivity, empathy, and compassion to foster psychological safety, connection and collaboration.
• Building strategic experience design, design research, emerging tech design, and data experience design teams, methods and ways of working from scratch
• Directing and delivering a variety of strategic experience design initiatives through primary and secondary research, contextual design, design ethnographies, generative research, business origami, service design, user and customer journeys, cognitive mapping, design workshops, sprints, participatory design, and more
• Defining relationships, ways of working and maintaining collaboration with many teams across the business
• Leading, coaching, and developing the team to promote individual growth and mentorship at all levels
• Growing human-centered-design maturity within product teams and the larger organization
• Driving business-wide understanding, adoption, and advocacy of strategic experience design and research approaches and offerings with key stakeholders, up to Management Board, to establish and maintain capabilities
• Presenting, advocating and inspiring concepts and strategies to teams and leadership, including experience engaging with executives up to the CEO
• Leading and managing team members in different locations

The team has a clear vision: to create everyday digital experiences for the many people through our human-centric methodologies that enable design, inspiration and innovation.

This role reports to the Digital Experience Manager, is located Malmö, Sweden and is part of the Global Digital Experience Design leadership team. Our organization has coworkers in Amsterdam, Sweden, Madrid, Shanghai and Philadelphia.
