WHO YOU ARE
You’ve been called a a Copy Chief or a Creative Director at various times in your career, and you have a top-notch understanding of digital messaging. You started out as a copywriter but now you’re a seasoned team leader who hires, leads and mentors UX and digital optimization writers as they create amazing work.
You’re a word lover with a passion for digging deep into why and how content works. Copy and grammar errors don’t get past you. You understand the difference between a brand attribute and a tone of voice, and you know why they both matter.
You’re a classic creative with lots of ideas, but also a team player who understands that a clear strategy, well-defined roles and proper planning are a key part of any successful, collaborative digital process.
You’re not a project manager, but you have an innate sense of how to scope creative work. You enjoy the details of managing a large and busy project pipeline and helping clear obstacles for your team.
You know how to give and take constructive, helpful feedback. You love editing other writers’ work, helping them convey a unique voice with ease and consistency.
You’re a flexible optimist who thrives on change, is comfortable speaking your mind, loves to influence people and processes, and always looks for the win!
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Digital Experience Writing Manager, you’ll bring the unique IKEA voice to life for billions of digital customers around the world. You’ll lead and advocate for human-centered content practices and craft compelling copy for our digital customers—inspiring, informing and guiding them through their experiences across multiple platforms. You’ll partner with other content experts to drive strategies and approaches and support the broader Group Digital organization, working within a highly collaborative environment including coworkers from the Design, Product, Engineering, Data and Business teams.
Here’s a sampling of expectations for your role as a Digital Experience Writing Manager
You’ll craft and direct copy and content to ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and consistency of brand voice across multiple experiences and products. From large initiatives to smaller, quick-turn projects, you’re willing to dive in and get the job done.
In close collaboration with Experience Design Researchers and/or Product UX Designers, you’ll plan and contribute to content initiatives, guide the development and documentation of efficient cross-functional processes, oversee our published copy, and help elevate the IKEA brand.
As a natural leader, you’ll provide direction and craft mentorship to assist in your team’s development. You’ll facilitate and drive human-centered, content-focused workshops and other co-creative methods. And ultimately, you’ll improve our content by working closely with various teams and stakeholders to create strong, vital copy across every touchpoint.

This role reports to the Head of Digital Experience Content; our team is based in both Malmö and Amsterdam and this role can be located in either of those locations. Our organization has co-workers in Amsterdam, Sweden, Madrid, Shanghai and Philadelphia. Please note that we accept applications only in English.
