Digital Lab - Platform Business Analyst

AstraZeneca are looking for a product focused Business Analyst to work on our Digital Lab Platform Team with a passion for improving user experience.



The engine of Research & Development is in our Labs - it's where ~3500 scientists perform 100k experiments a year to support and drive our drug projects. We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the Platform team who can partner with our Business teams to understand the 'why' of the portfolio of Digital Lab Applications, used by Scientists, for primary analysis, for lab workflows and driving lab operations.



In Early Science, we have highly skilled scientists in our labs who experiment and support complex drug projects. The environment is driven by scientific and technical innovation with a high level of diversity in workflows, data and vendors.



You will be part of our global development team working seamlessly with both the Business Product Owners and our Engineering team. You'll be key in the analysis and solution development of new systems and changes to the existing estate to make sure that needs are understood and that solutions delivered give a great user experience.



What you'll do

Our Business Analysts don't just analyse data, business requirements and enable change, they also have user empathy and are key to designing great products

* You will be a key part of the platform's Demand process, making initial assessment of the demands, focusing on the business value, then presenting them to the Business Governance Group for prioritization of the platform's work
* You'll be able to translate requirements into design specifications which reflect business process, functional design, non functional considerations and useability
* You'll be able to correlate complex data and use this to influence the product roadmap by giving data driven recommendations
* You'll be focused on value and how to visualise this with your product owner and key stakeholders
* You'll ask objective and challenging questions to help to develop the product so that it is fit for our user needs
* You'll be aware of modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize a great product and user focused culture
* You'll be a key member of the team that transforms an estate of silo'd systems into an ecosystem that delivers great user experiences
