ABOUT THE ROLE

The Product Owner uses IT expertise, bio-pharma industry trends and understanding of AZ business processes to lead IT strategy development, investment planning, and delivery. The role develops strategic relationships in collaboration with process owners and stakeholders to achieve business objectives. This role partners to identify innovative technology products that deliver high-value business outcomes to create competitive advantages for AZ. You'll be responsible for the successful delivery of requirements, projects, and products, flexing key capabilities of Business Analysis and Agile Project delivery and related ways to working.

The Product Owner focuses on Digital Products with a focus on strategy, portfolio, analysis, planning and execution. This role works with business partners across global regions and a range of capabilities with a strong focus on data, analytics and people-centric solutions.



Key Accountabilities

Solicit, understand and prioritize business requirements from multiple stakeholders.
*

Interpret business requirements and simplify them for easy analysis, solution design and decision-making.
*

Work with colleagues across the OpsIT and the Centers for Enablement (C4Es) -- e.g., Architects, Scaled Delivery, etc. -- to identify the capabilities required to ensure outcomes/requirements are clearly understood and can be delivered. ​

Develop and deliver Digital products to drive business value and step change Digital maturity within the organisation
*

Provide thought leadership & innovation in the function driving transformation using business technology.
*

Contribute to the definition of the technology direction and strategy for the business area ​
*

In collaboration with the business, develop business cases to deliver the business outcomes required.
*

Drive Return on Investment (ROI) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
*

Defines scope and goals for projects. Establishes budget and schedule​.
*

Leads/supports delivery strategy development including Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and contract terms in collaboration with Procurement and external partners.
*

Lead and influence teams to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget to achieve stated goals.
*

Assign work and empower teams to be accountable for ensuring tasks are completed as scheduled​.
*

Monitor and report project progress, manage spending to budget, compare actual performance against planned/scheduled performance, manage risks/issues.
*

​Manage backlog for agile delivery including the planning sprints and reporting.
*

Maintains communication with stakeholders regarding status and expectations.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED

*

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business, technology, or related field
*

Rich experience of industry 4.0 technology
*

Experience of identification and implementation of innovative technology solutions
*

Experience creating business strategies and influencing the vision of senior leaders
*

Experience leading business case creation including related investment costs
*

Experience in managing, developing and leading in a virtual team environment
*

Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams
*

Expert relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
*

Expertise in planning, change management and problem solving and able to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature
*

Understanding of Agile ways of working e.g. Scrum
