Volvo Cars - Driving change together
Volvo Cars’ continued success is the result of a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive working environment. Today, we are one of the most well-known and respected car brands, with over 40,000 employees across the globe. At Volvo Cars, your career is designed around your skills and aspirations so you can reach your full potential.
For the right person, an inspiring, and creative workplace awaits. Did you know that every Volvo Cars employee worldwide has the right to our Family Bond, our new all-gender, paid parental leave policy? You’ll also enjoy a culture and benefits package that’s made us one of the world’s most awarded and progressive employers.
By 2025, we aim to sell 1.2 million cars annually, 50% of which will be electric vehicles and sold directly to customers through digital channels. Join us on the journey of a lifetime as we create the driving and electrification technologies of tomorrow.
What you’ll do
Volvo Cars is fully committed to enhancing supply chain visibility as a foundation for improved planning and execution. In the pursuit of this vision Volvo Cars has chosen Kinaxis RapidResponse as the bedrock for our transformation journey. Presently, we’re in the process of forming a product team that will assume a central role in implementing and managing this solution.
You will join the Order Management & Planning product cluster within Digital Core at Volvo Cars. This product cluster delivers digital solutions that improve stability and consistency in the production plan, which will enable us to provide shorter and more accurate lead times to our customers. You will be part of the journey as we deliver on our company’s vision and ensure high flow through our factories.
As our new digital product owner, you will maximize value by owning and deciding upon priorities in the digital product team’s backlog from a business perspective to streamline the execution, while maintaining the technical integrity of the features/components for the team. You will adapt to the changing needs of the business and ensure the Advanced Planning Solution (APS) is positioned to deliver optimal business value.
You will stay updated on the future vision, strategy, and direction of the APS, and you will be articulating and consistently emphasizing the short- and long-term vision of the product to the team and relevant stakeholders. Another important part is to involve the team in backlog refinement to achieve minimum handover and maximum joint understanding as well as understanding the scope of the upcoming enabler work.
You will collaborate with the team and architects to assist with decision-making as well as sequencing of the key technological infrastructures. We believe that you will participate in sprint team demos and retrospectives (as requested by the team).
Our way of working is agile and as such we test, we fail, and we learn. However, we’re not religious about it and are constantly evaluating how to work in the best way, applying common sense to ensure as little waste as possible. In the end we are interested in the quality of our work, and the users it affects. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery, and we use modern tools and innovations to create business value continuously.
What you’ll bring
Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys collaboration, who can bring clarity where there is none, and who can guide others in times of uncertainty. You bring energy, creativity, a solution-oriented mindset and perhaps some humour, and we’ll make sure to support your deliveries and personal growth.
You are experienced in developing product strategy and operations – for example as a Product Owner or equivalent, and you come from the Supply Chain Management domain. You understand the importance of saying "no", in a firm yet tasteful way, to developing something that does not benefit the end user. You have worked with implementation of modern APS SaaS solutions, preferably Kinaxis RapidResponse, as well as operations in a product landscape with high demands on stability.
You have facilitated collaboration between teams and management with agile development methodologies. You are excellent at communication, presentation and relationship building with teams and global stakeholders.
You can communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing.
We believe that you are user-focused and enthusiastic about solving their problems. You are creative, open to new ideas and always looking for ways to improve. You have a holistic viewpoint and you are value-oriented, with an ability to inspire and motivate others in working towards a goal.
