Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.  We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

Digital is on an exciting journey toward being a product-oriented software company. At Digital you get to work with exciting challenges in an agile product team, focusing on delivering business value and putting the users first. It is a joint effort to continue and develop our agile journey and you will be part of that.

What’s in it for you?
We are looking for a passionate and technically skilled Digital Product Owner for the product API Management within the cluster Integration Center of Enablement (ICoE).  The API Management product resides within the Integration Center of Enablement Cluster which manages a set of integration platforms, currently 8 of them, where MQ, 3scale for APIM, and KAFKA are the key platforms. We maintain and operate these platforms and self-service portals to enable (state of the art) integration capabilities for all applications at Volvo Cars. Our Integration Strategy states API first and with that, this product is at the core of modernizing VCC’s integration landscape and time to market for new digital innovations at VCC. The product is based on the Red HAT 3scale platform and subsequently provides an API catalog and usage support to any application at Volvo Cars, supporting all aspects of the APIM process.

You will be leading an agile development team of 9 people to deliver on the product backlog and product strategy and you will also work closely with our operations supplier to secure operational excellence. You will also take an active part in delivering on our self-service roadmap, where we develop self-service tools with the purpose to enable our application teams to fully manage their integrations themselves. We are currently going through a major restructure of our cluster and we are creating 5 new products out of the current very large integration product. As product owner for one of these products, you get the opportunity to be part of the exciting road ahead establishing the team and the product in a new way, fit for the future of integration management.

What you’ll do
As you will have a diverse set of responsibilities in managing and developing the platform, developing the self-service Portal, provisioning solutions for applications, and supporting the application teams around APIM, you need to have knowledge and experience in API Management and RedHat 3scale technology and infrastructure, integration concepts and patterns, cloud computing as well as software architecture in general. Having good strategic thinking is naturally key to this role as you will be setting the roadmap for the product, strategically, financially as well as operationally.

Your main responsibilities will be:
 • Own, maintain and prioritize the product backlog
 • Work with the development team in implementing solutions and features of the platform
 • Participate in daily standups and other scrum ceremonies
 • Involve the team in backlog refinement and coaching them in supporting application teams with API Management knowledge and onboarding
 • Articulating the short- and long-term vision of the product to the team and relevant stakeholders as well as ensuring increased stability for our products by close collaboration with the other product teams of the cluster
 • Actively collaborate with stakeholders as well as other teams to promote the platform
 • Actively participate within ICoE as a stakeholder in the self-service portal development
 • Manage our suppliers and optimize cooperation model with them, as well as ensure operational excellence over time
 • Manage and optimize financials associated with the assigned digital product
 • Proactively develop products strategically with long-term sustainability and excellent standard in focus

Who you are:
We're looking for you who have work experience in a leading position - driving digital product strategy as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or equivalent role for a minimum of 4 years.  We believe you have extensive experience in integrations and technology with a focus on API Management, 3scale, and APIM strategies and understand the global environment in which Volvo Cars operates.  Your dialogue with stakeholders is strong and well-articulated. You have worked with suppliers and are very comfortable with the dialogues related to both critical operations and development. You are experienced in agile development methodologies and SAFE framework and have worked in distributed and global product teams. You are data-driven in your approach to decision-making and measuring your successes. You are also fluent in English, both verbally and written.
