What do we do?
Our team is working with predictive engineering, implementing so called models and monitors in different mechatronic part of the vehicle. The purpose is to monitor behavior and usage to identify unknown state in the system. This will give us an advantage being ahead of the system behavior and to keep the system operating with minimum impact for the driver.

You will be involved in the development process from concept to industrialization, meaning designing, implement and verify functionality in embedded systems. Besides development in C++ and Python a big part of the work is working with data and develop models based on mathematics. This includes as well testing on test objects, on-board and off-board, through development.

What do you need to know?
You need to be a skilled programmer with high analytical skills. You need to be good at
* C/C++ and Python
* Big data analytics
* Machin learning – deep learning


We see preferably that you have an university degree within mathematics/statistics or machine learning engineering. 

What is nice if you know
We use many tools and apply many standards. We do not expect that you know them all, you will learn them on the job. Examples of tools, frameworks and standards that we use are
* UDS (Universal Diagnostic Service)
* XCP (Universal Measurement and Calibration Protocol)
* DLT (Diagnostic Log and Trace)
* Git
* Kafka
* MQTT
Network communication, e.g. CAN and TCP

Who you are
You are flexible, have excellent communication and documentation skills. You have a positive attitude and are a supportive person to your colleagues and also team oriented.

You are eager to learn with a growth and agile mindset and have a genuine interest helping Volvo cars reach its goals in the diagnostic and data development journey. We believe you are self-managed, in order to fully succeed you need to be well organized and proactive in your work. We work with the agile development method SAFe so an understanding or certification is meritorious.
