Volvo Group Trucks Strategy is part of the Deputy CEO organization at Volvo Group Headquarters and is driving the overall Group Trucks business portfolio & strategies by balancing commercial, financial, technical, industrial and strategic perspectives. Group Trucks Strategy is also responsible for the management of the newly formed Strategic Alliance between Volvo Group and Isuzu.

About the position
In the position of Director, Alliance Management, you are a permanent member of the Alliance Office team, reporting to SVP Group Trucks Strategy, with a functional reporting line to the Alliance Office head (VP, Alliance Management), and you work to develop and promote the Volvo – Isuzu Strategic Alliance.
With your Japanese cultural background and your capacity to speak fluently Japanese, you support the Alliance Office Volvo team and Volvo SVP Group Trucks Strategy to manage the overall relationship with Isuzu, securing the right coordination and alignment, within the Volvo Group and with Isuzu, for all of the Alliance related activities.
In this role, you also directly contribute to the Alliance strategic thinking and Strategic Projects management from concept stage to execution.


The Director, Alliance Management responsibilities include to:
Support the overall Alliance development, activities, and projects
Drive and support the execution of agreed projects
Build and maintain relationship with all stakeholders
Organize project teams, plan and drive teams activities
Facilitate and support relationship with Isuzu, securing the coordination and alignment (internally and between the partners)
Represent and promote the Alliance towards internal and external stakeholders
Together with legal compliance officer, Secure legal compliance of all the interactions with Isuzu
Support the Alliance Office Volvo head in administrating the Alliance Governance:
Operational management of the Alliance Office
Coordination / functional management of the Volvo Core Team, Cross-Company Team leaders, Alliance officers…
Partner negotiations
Preparation and support to the Joint-Alliance Committee and the Alliance Board

The position will be based in Gothenburg with frequent traveling to Japan.


Who are we looking for?
You have a Master´s Degree in either Business, Engineering, IT or Finance fields combined with a solid Japanese/European bicultural background. Successful experiences in dealing with cooperation/Alliance/JVs with Japanese partners would be considered as a clear advantage. Experience from Trucks business in several geographical areas/markets as well as knowledge of new technologies (technical or businesswise) is considered as a merit.
To be successful in this position you have proven project management and negotiation skills with both a holistic view as well as attention to details under tight timeframes. You have a proven ability to convince in an Asian / Japanese context, and a strong sense of integrity. You are analytical, proactive and solution oriented with a distinct business acumen that collaborates easily and create results through teamwork and a trustful dialogue but also being able to work independently.
Communication and networking skills are important in this position. You have strong oral and written communication skills, and you are fluent in written/spoken English and Japanese.
