We are now looking for our next R&D Director within Axis OS Development!

The AXIS OS Development unit
AXIS OS is our Linux based software platform that powers Axis world class product portfolio of surveillance cameras, recorders, access control systems, intercoms, loudspeakers, etc.

Today the unit has three team managers with development teams directly responsible for core functions in AXIS OS mainly related to real-time multimedia, networking, cloud and data connectivity, as well as security whom colloborate closely with other teams responsible for storage, AI/analytics, core video and chip platforms, etc. It is also responsible the overall software roadmap for AXIS OS, i.e. both the commercial aspects of the roadmap and the technical aspects of the roadmap, and it responsible for leading the architecture team for AXIS OS.

The AXIS OS development teams work in an internal eco system consisting of Axis' and partner development teams, not only at the OS and edge layers, but also at application and cloud level, including the surrounding open source eco system, and it engages in standardization activities.

The mission of the organization is to strengthen Axis offerings and development within each of the core areas and to coordinate, and to align and contribute to Axis journey ahead at a technical and strategic level.

The role
As R&D Director for AXIS OS Development you are responsible for managing an organization and its management team and to actively contribute to Axis journey ahead. You take an active role in developing Axis' overall agenda with a focus on AXIS OS, our product portfolio and how it relates to, connects with and supports applications and cloud services.

You will directly be responsible for working with the Software management team as well as with your team of direct reports, and you will coordinate, align and contribute to a cross organizational wider agenda.

In addition to above you;

* Have documented leadership skills, preferably with experience from leading management teams within R&D with focus on organizational and business development.
* Understand and see the value in a diverse team
* You have xperience from working with Linux development, devops and partnerships is a plus.
