The Role
We are currently looking for innovative clinical senior scientist to join the Translational Science Team within the Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmunity Innovative Medicine Unit in Mölndal, Sweden. Successful candidate will become part of a newly formed, creative and flexible team that identifies new targets in human respiratory and autoimmune diseases based on the deep understanding the disease phenotypes and the driving disease mechanisms. We are interested in scientists with a strong background in translational medicine and with a proven track record of research in academia or industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identification of new targets in human disease and potential clinical segmentation tools to support RIA project teams
- Shared responsibilities with Bioscience, DMPK and Chemistry for quality target selection candidates
- Deliver a collaborative working model with project teams to provide/support human target validation and ensure that input is provided to drug project and capability teams as required
- Support the development, validation and delivery of clinically qualified biomarkers that will guide/support dose selection, safety evaluation, go/no go decision-marking, patient stratification
- To drive in close collaboration with Early Clinical Development translational medicine aspects in projects
- Ensure compliance to PHB function ethics, policies and standard procedures.
- Collaborate strongly with other groups/functions that provide expertise and deliverables relevant to Translational science scope
Education
MD PhD
Experience
- Approx 10 years of work experience in pharmaceutical R&D or discovery and development projects in the academia
- Demonstrated knowledge across R&D-related sciences and practices
- Experience and solid understanding of biology, pharmacology, translational medicine and clinical sciences, with pre-eminence in at least one of these areas
- Track record of delivering in discovery as well as development setting
- Understanding of payer, regulatory and commercial issues in the pharmaceutical industry
