Our function is newly formed, and we aim to set and evolve enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and privacy compliance via vision, strategy, tactics, and operational support. Through this we want to make sure that we have optimal architecture, technology solutions, and ways of working in area of connectivity to drive value for Volvo Group and our Customers in a secure and compliant way. We believe that by applying lean governance in a cross functional cooperation model, we can ensure insight in the current, the right decisions, and continuously improve efficiency while minimizing risk.


The position


We are now looking for a colleague to head up Enterprise Architecture and join us in building our newly established function Architecture & Security. As Director Enterprise Architecture you will lead a team of very senior and skilled architects in the mission of securing the right capabilities to succeed with the challenges of today and capturing the opportunities of tomorrow. Working from a strategic perspective down to the actual deliveries. This includes areas such as working with business stakeholders defining the way forward to meet new demands, driving technical strategies and providing governance, supporting product planning and development, and setting roadmaps.


The position reports to the Vice President Architecture & Security and is a member of the Connected Solutions Architecture & Security management team.


Key responsibilities
Setting the direction and leading development of enterprise architecture within Connected Solutions.
Build, develop and lead the Enterprise Architecture team.
Own and maintain the Connected Solutions enterprise architecture framework.
Enabling cross functional collaboration and alignment to ensure unified goals and processes.
Support an end-to-end perspective of connected service development.
Build understanding in development and operational efficiency over time.
Provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem-solving ability to the organization
Participate in creating strategies and policies to meet overall business goals.
Leading and setting standards for governance and technical infrastructure.
Forecast plans and strategies for data and technology transitions, future goals, and needed skills.
Oversee documentation of roadmaps, models, and market trends.
Support growth of architectural skills and practices into the company.



Your profile


To qualify for this role, you should have:
Ability to create a successful working climate with all functions within Connected Solutions, other Volvo Group entities as well as with customer and partners in the end-to-end value chain.
Solid experience within the area of software development and delivery of digital services
Interest in and understanding of the automotive, connectivity and transportation business.
Experience in Enterprise Architecture, Cloud based technologies, Product based development and agile delivery methodologies.
Coaching leadership, ability to create and lead through networks and to create and maintain high level of trust.
Fluent in English with excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills
Successful in building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team.
Hold a master’s degree or equivalent as the basis for your career.
