As a Director Equipment and MRO Purchasing you get the opportunity to drive this transformation and make a direct impact on the future of the industry.
Together with your future Category and MRO teams you are responsible to procure equipment for manufacturing of cathode active material and battery cells.
Market Scouting, Enabling of European Supply Chain, securing the production capacities of supply chain for future tremendous growth of Northvolt as well as supporting during projects execution stage will be the daily scope of your work.
We believe you have a solid background in leadership, procurement as well as project management in the automotive industry, maybe at a Tier 1 supplier. You are skilled at building lasting relationships with suppliers.
You are an inspiring leader that motivates the team and knows to delegate but at the same time loves to be hands on.
You will be part of Northvolt Supply Chain and work closely with both our Programs, Operations and R&D teams. The role reports to Senior Director Purchasing Equipment and Indirect.
Your challenge, if you join us
You will manage the equipment purchasing department covering Equipment Category and MRO Teams supporting Northvolt across all main NV programmes; Northvolt Ett (Skellefteå), Labs(Västerås) and future projects to come
You will continue to build strong procurement team in different locations
You will continue to deploy procurement processes, toolkit and competence management to assure growth of every team member

You will divide your time between our offices in Stockholm, Västerås and Skelleftea.

Education/Experience
A degree in Engineering, MSc or MBA/Relevant University Degree
+10 years of experience, incl. leadership in purchasing preferably from automotive, semiconductors, or mass production industry or in operational management consulting
Successful history of working with senior management, as well as cross-functional teams
Experience from multi-cultural business environment is a clear plus
Startup and growth company experience is a major advantage
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressure multi-cultural environment
Thrive working within tight deadlines and excellent at time management
Have plenty of grit, a can-do attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, a great eye for quality, a sense of humor and a curious mind
Is friendly, passionate & purpose driven
Willingness to travel for EU and oversea business trips. (up to 50% of time)
