Overview
The Director, European Product Management is responsible for developing and driving the implementation of the product portfolio strategy to optimise profitability and volume development for the Incontinence Care Europe Business Unit. It achieves this by leading short and long-range planning for the product portfolio, and opitmising operational execution within development and product commercialisation arenas. This is a key leadership role, setting direction, forming partnerships, bringing the voice of the market into Innovation and development initiatives, and building a high performing product management organisation.
This leadership position provides coaching and mentorship to the product management team members and is responsible to manage resources, tools and uniform processes to do their respective jobs. This role creates and manages the overall product management process and oversees its effective execution. The role directs, supports, and contributes primarily to the making of the product business case, market plan and market requirements. It also guides and assists with the formulation of a product launch plan for all innovations driven by GHC.
The position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Main Tasks
Accountability for the development, anchoring and implementation of the European product strategy to optimise profitability and volume development and achieve business targets
Ownership and management of the product assortment and specifications including quality files and customer agreements
Maintenance of TENA and competitor product data and ensuring the markets are equipped with useful and updated information regarding the features of TENA and the benefits versus competitors
Identification, initiation and management of product upgrades and value engineering programmes as well as the processes and standards by which to deliver and monitor the post-roll-out performance.
Responsible to give input on Business case and initiate Capex process for European and Global initiatives.
Contribute to the preparation and implementation of the 8Q plan
Work with the go-to-market cluster owners to define the go-to-market approach for the product range
Representation of EPM in steering fora (CatEx, PPR, S&OP, Projects)
Project sponsorship / management as necessary
Lead, coach and develop the capabilities of the EPM team, especially with respect to product marketing
Key Competencies
Demonstrated strong leadership including having developed the capabilities of a team
Ability to create structure and deliver results in a matrix organisation
Extensive and recent in-market marketing and product management experience
Robust understanding of market and competitive conditions as well as technology capabilities and what is required to maximise return on investment
Ability to cope with technical language/ environment and to make sense of this for marketing & sales
University degree in a Business / Marketing discipline and proven line manager
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Must be able to travel 20% of the time as this position requires travel to markets and factories
