In Group Trucks Technology (GTT) Complete Vehicle, we can offer you a highly challenging position with a great purpose and impact on Volvo Group.
Complete Vehicle is a global function within GTT with employees in the areas of Product design (PD), Product builds of prototypes (PB), Features Verification & Validation (FVV) and Aftermarket technology (AMT). CV SWE function is responsible for FVV and PB areas and we are on an exciting change journey with focus on quality, truck performance and maximizing the output through cadence in testing activities.
We are now looking for a Director of Verification & Validation function in Göteborg reporting to the Vice President of CV SWE.
In this position, you will lead and manage a team of highly skilled Test Engineers, Rig Developers and Specialists whose primary mission is to verify and validate Customer Features on component, system and complete vehicle levels.

Qualifications:
Minimum Master’s degree in an Engineering or technical discipline is required.
Supervisory experience as Manager with direct reports
15+ years of Product Development experience in the transportation industry
Experience working with testing, data collection and post-processing, instrumentation.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Swedish is an advantage
Excellent in team development and interest in how each person can contribute to the team.
True interest in our products and preferably commercial driver license for truck and trailer
Key responsibility
As Director of Verification & Validation, your main responsibility is to lead the V&V organization, with 6 teams, and to secure efficient contribution to the development and maintenance of the products in the Heavy Duty segments.
You will lead the development of future Complete Vehicle Rigs and Facilites, in Lundby, to meet the new demands of verification of new technologies. We are in a very interesting time with the development of rigs and facilities to support sustainable technology development
We expect you to be knowledgeable and experienced in building effective teams as well as having a strong delivery mind set. We also think that you need to be customer focused and have a high level of integrity and autonomy.
You will lead the Verification & Validation group deliveries – respecting budget, delivery time & quality – in areas like:
Driver & Vehicle Productivity (e.g. Fuel Eco, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, etc)
Durability & Reliability (e.g. strength and fatigue testing, structural simulation, etc) and decide on needed complete vehicle tests including RT Hot, RT Cold, RT5/RT50
Test rig development and maintenance
Safety (Braking, Handling, Driver assistance)
Driver Environment (Ride Comfort & vibrations, Interior Noise, Exterior noise)
You will actively work with your Vehicle Engineering/Powertrain Engineering/Vehicle Technology counterparts to address complex technical challenges.
