Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is the function in Group Reporting Tax & Control (part of group Finance) with responsibility to secure that financial performance is correctly reflected for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities. FCA is also a global service provider through Accounting Services with process efficient, standardized service deliveries supporting local finance. FCA employs 1400+ people in 50+ countries.
FCA Group & Sweden is the part of FCA with responsibility for financial performance reporting for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities based in Sweden.
FCA is a combination of Accounting & Company Control (ACC), Group Financial Reporting (GFR) and VGCS system support, formally starting its operation on April 1, 2020.
We are looking for a Director Financial Control and Accounting Group Trucks Operations and Group Trucks Purchasing
Group Trucks Operations (GTO) is the truck industrial entity within the Volvo Group responsible for Truck manufacturing, including Cab & Vehicle Assembly, Powertrain Production, Logistics Services, Parts Distribution and Remanufacturing. Group Trucks Operations has a global industrial footprint that offers an opportunity to an international world class industrial environment, where continuous improvement and productivity improvement is driven through Volvo Production System (VPS).
Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) provides competitive advantages to the Volvo Group by selecting high performing suppliers to deliver the best possible products and services that add business value.
As head of Financial Control and Accounting Group Trucks Operations and Group Trucks Purchasing, you will lead a team of 6 people, highly skilled and engaged accounting professionals.
You will lead and support the daily work in the function, and you will secure that operational results and results per legal entity are aligned with, and according to, GTO and GTP business decisions as well compliant with all statutory and legal requirements. You will secure a true and fair view of the financial information for the GTO and GTP operations within your scope. You and your team will work in an integrated and seamless way with business controllers and other stakeholders. Operations in GTO and GTP are strongly linked and you will secure that these dependencies and managed progressively and accurately.
You are expected to ensure that all financial activity is managed effectively and with integrity. You will establish and maintain a high qualitative accounting and financial reporting process to provide timely and accurate reporting of operational consolidated results and results per legal entity inside the scope of your team. You will provide financial information and financial analysis to primarily GTO and GTP management team, ensuring that the information is aligned with, and according to, business decisions and expectations. This will encompass a good relation with Business Area Business Controllers and to other FCA team members.
You have a business-oriented mindset and can act as a strong stakeholder in the finance community. You enjoy working in an international and flexible environment. You are a good communicator, change leader and team player.
You will report to VP Financial Control & Accounting Group Sweden and be part of the FCA Group Sweden Management team.
Main activities and responsibilities:
Secure accuracy, completeness and true and fair view of the financial information for GTO and GTP
Secure compliance, reporting, analyses and communication of financials for GTO and GTP
Secure correct financials in the operating perspective
Secure accounting and compliance in the legal entity perspective
Lead the financial reporting activities and deliver financial analysis of closing outcome
Take direct responsibility for accounting and reporting activities together with your team
Implement and follow up Volvo Group policies and procedures, ensure compliance including IFRS, local GAAP, tax requirements and internal control
Develop effective teams were people take pride in being responsible for their deliveries
Have focus on people development by creating an environment for growth
Apply inclusive leadership taking advantage of the full diversity of the team
Participate in, and sometimes lead, change projects in the finance community
Drive further harmonization and standardization of accounting processes
Personal profile:
Academic degree in accounting, finance or similar
Extensive experience from accounting, finance, business control or similar
Solid leadership experience, multi-cultural and global exposure is an advantage
Excellent ability to communicate, engage and drive toward a target vision
Excellent understanding of the Volvo Group’s business
Passion for leadership, people development and team growth
Passion for continuously improving accounting and reporting
Understanding of Volvo’s reporting systems (VGCS, BCS, SAP R/3, Essbase) is an advantage
The position occasionally requires travel.
