Group Accounting & Consolidation is a function within Group Reporting Tax & Control with responsibility for governance of the Volvo Group consolidation process, development and implementation of accounting policies (IFRS) for the Volvo Group and the external financial reporting including related processes. This responsibility includes ownership of accounting instructions, timetables and structures in financial systems.
The position
In this position, you will contribute to Volvo Group’s financial reports by managing a team of Group Accounting Specialists in interesting and often complex accounting topics, finance projects, process development and more. It is a position in an international and professional environment where interesting and challenging tasks are commonplace. You will have highly skilled co-workers and cooperate with specialists and key stakeholders both at Group Finance and other parts of Volvo Group.
You are responsible for the legal consolidation of the Volvo Group. You make sure that important areas such as equity, taxes and pensions are correct and in line with IFRS. The work includes managing and preparing accounting policies and instructions to handle the daily accounting and you contribute to the External and Annual Reports for the Volvo Group.
You will be manager for a team of Group Accounting Specialist, including full managerial responsibilities. You are also leading the financial reporting process within your areas and you have responsibility to define and develop these processes.
As a Director, Head of IFRS consolidation you will drive and coordinate projects to secure appropriate accounting treatment, both from a theoretical and from a practical perspective. You are used to embrace complex structures to gain an overall understanding. With a holistic perspective you take part in accounting discussions internally and with external auditors. You are not afraid to take decisions, but you have a feeling for when anchoring and finding consensus is needed.
The Director, Head of IFRS consolidation reports to VP Head of Group Accounting & Consolidation.
Core responsibilities:
Develop and lead the work within your team thru complex accounting matters and M&A projects
Establish and lead effective processes for carrying out the accounting in applicable areas
Responsibility for accounting policies and instructions in applicable areas
Review and be part of preparing the Volvo Group External Reports
Hold a holistic view to connect experts in different accounting areas
Lead and coordinate discussions with external auditors within your areas of responsibility
Your profile:
Academic degree in Accounting
Minimum of five years’ accounting experience preferably combined with consolidation experience
Experience from an Audit firm and/or the accounting department of a large company or group
Experience from leading people
Deep knowledge in IFRS
Ability to work independently
Fluent in English and Swedish both verbal and written
Excellent communication skills
Collaboration skills
