Director Lean Manufacturing, Powertrain & Chassis

About the position
With the continuous improvement efforts in the Powertrain & Chassis business segment, there is an opportunity to join our team as Director Lean Manufacturing Europe to implement and deploy a globally connected Lean Continous Improvement strategy and collaboration across all functions. This position is reporting to the Vice President Operations Europe and shall be based in a suitable Kongsberg Automotive (KA) site in Europe such as Mullsjö in Sweden, Hvittingfoss in Norway or Vrable in Slovakia.
Responsibilities
Coach, deploy and implement the Continuous Improvement strategy in the P&C’s operational facilities in Europe and functions to improve efficiency, streamline processes and reduce costs within the business.
Support effective and consistent policy deployment by cascading Corporate and business area objectives.
Develop training standards for the organisation, to ensure a One-KA approach and one common standard for processes throughout the business area including Engineering, new product development, Supply Chain, inventory management, and production control.
Coach leadership (at all levels) within the Continuous Improvement implementation strategy for P&C by focusing on delivering business results and building competency in Continuous Improvement methods.
Provide leadership, mentoring and training to all levels of the organization on the use and practice of C.I. methodology and tools (e.g. 5S, visual controls, standardized work, VSM & A3, Heijunka, Jidoka, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
Facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment by leveraging good and strong interpersonal skills. Act as a key driver of change within the business, supporting management and cross functional decisions by communicating the enterprise-wide changes to employees (and other stake holders such as suppliers) and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s transformation.
Drive Lean for select model new product introductions.
Develop appropriate dashboards & influence cross functional team members to meet aggressive C.I. Program’s and Business Targets.
Mentor Engineering and Manufacturing Project Leaders and cross functional Team members and drive consistency across products and programs.
Being an effective communicator throughout the organisation on the implementation of C.I. thinking to help drive culture change and advance C.I. competencies.
Develop infrastructure tools and supporting materials, including training to support the Kongsberg’s C.I. initiatives. Conduct workshops and other training programs e.g. cross-functional kaizen events that foster the cross functional deployment of Continuous Improvement Methodology.

Requirements
Bachelor or Master in a technical domain and with relevant practical experience
8-10 year´s experience within Continuous Improvement, preferably in automotive or aerospace industry
Qualifications and strong experience on VAVE, Lean Management, Kaizen, Six Sigma
Excellent Communication and English skills; other languages a plus
Result and solution oriented and strong problem-solving skills
Proven record of successful cross-functional collabroation
