Discovery Networks Legal is hiring a Director Legal in Sweden to support the Nordic region in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment in a constantly evolving industry!

The role

As Director Legal your role will cover tasks in the Nordic region, but you will primarily deal with Swedish related legal and commercial matters. The position is highly focused on negotiating and drafting agreements with third parties regarding distribution of content and clearance of rights. You work closely together with the business where you are expected not only to provide legal advice but also be a reliable discussion partner where you also from time to time take lead in the discussions. Further, you will also manage the Swedish legal department. You will play an important part of the Swedish business and as such take part in strategic discussions and decisions on a variety of company related matters.

The place of work will be Stockholm and you will report to the Senior Director Legal, Nordics.

Who are you?

You have a Swedish law degree, and at least seven years of professional media/technology / IP law and general private law experience in an international environment, ideally law firm and/or multi-national company. Preferably, you have a good knowledge of television business and general entertainment industry as well as ´new media´ developments. You have proven experience in giving fast and efficient business-minded legal support as well as in drafting and negotiating agreements. You have excellent negotiation skills and sound business judgment. You have a flexible mindset to changes, you are curious, agile and comfortable in dealing with uncertainty is a must. Excellent knowledge of business English is required.
