Umeå Plant is one of the Volvo Groups largest plants. With over 1800 employees, we are one of Northern Sweden’s largest industries. We produce cabs to Volvo Trucks, with everything from stamping sheet metal to welding and painting complete cabs. As our Director Maintenance, you will have a key role in the on-going transformation of the business. You will manage the maintenance organization towards safety, quality, delivery and financial targets.
You will be responsible for the overall maintenance strategy by creating and developing a reliable, safe and cost efficient process. You will continue the implementation of TPM and Volvo Production System (VPS), which means to implement standardized ways of working, develop the organization and achieve contribution from all employees.
We have an advanced facility and maintenance is key. This position is very important in the Umeå plant organization. You will be a member of the Plant Management Team, reporting directly to the Vice President & General Manager. You will manage a team of managers which you will be responsible to lead and develop. In total your organization consists of more than 200 employees.
Main activities and responsibilities for this role
Be the driving force to develop the maintenance process and organization to become a benchmark within our industry
Continue to develop our maintenance towards proactive way of working
Leading your team to support activities for optimization and stabilization of production facilities in the value flow
Be able to lead strategic and organizational development for your function in collaboration with the production functions, as well as other support functions
Critical competencies and experience

Excellent communication skills are essential to be able to build networks and create trusting relationships. You believe in building a knowledge based organization with a strong teamwork as a foundation.

The ideal candidate for this positions has a long experience and knowledge of production, maintenance and experience from management within operations. Further, you are able to demonstrate a clear vision, a global mind-set and successful people & culture oriented leadership.
