The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?
Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.
THE ROLE
The mission of Product Creation Operations (PC Ops) at Utopia is to empower our autonomous cross-functional Product Creation Teams (a.k.a. Squads) to be outcome driven, customer focused, and operate in an environment that encourages continuous discovery and delivery.
PC Ops has 3 pillars: Product Operations, Coaching, and Program Management.
As a Director of Coaching you will report to the VP Product Creation Operations. You will nurture a team of excellent Product Discovery Coaches & Agile Delivery Coaches. You will be responsible for their success and providing the environment for that success. Together, you will identify the Squads that can leverage your combined experiences the most to create the largest impact towards the PC Ops Mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hire and coach a team of Product Discovery Coaches & Agile Delivery Coaches capable of scaling with Utopia through a period of continued high-growth - ensuring they are successful in moving the organisation towards autonomous, empowered, cross functional product teams.
- You will act as a thought leader and trusted expert to establish a strong product-centric culture, extending your expert knowledge of product management, product design, agile software development & lean mechanisms across the different Business Units and their Squads.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of the PC Ops Strategy in-line with the company strategy.
- You will serve as an evangelist for the team and overall culture, both internally and externally.
REQUIREMENTS
- You have extensive experience launching multiple complex customer-facing products to global markets as a product management leader, design leader, engineering leader, or agile coaching leader.
- You have extensive experience managing people - it is a plus if those people were coaches themselves.
- You are an expert in driving change in large organisations ideally in a growth-stage startup.
- You are an expert in techniques and methods of modern product discovery, product delivery, product launch & product optimisation.
- You are the go-to person for the senior product & engineering leaders in your organisation
- You are fluent in English - both written and verbal. Your message is crisp, clear and to the point, both in verbal and written communication. You can convey a narrative that creates clarity out of ambiguity, articulates well-conceived goals, and builds consensus amongst your peers and partners.
- Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required.
