WHAT UTOPIANS DO

The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?

Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.

THE ROLE

Utopia’s vision is to become the industry standard for data and payments in the music industry. You will be responsible for building up and running the entire Payment infrastructure of Utopia Music AG with the mission to create a new industry standard for everyone. You will report to the VP of Financial Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- You will work closely with our product and engineering teams and report to the VP of Financial Services.
- Your main mission is to execute the payment strategy, and set goals into plans and action to ensure that Utopia music has a robust, reliant, fast payments infrastructure for its clients. Regardless if that includes building or buying, partnering up with others etc.
- You and your team will be the go-to persons for any questions regarding payments, and payments infrastructure.



REQUIREMENTS

- Over 10 years of documented professional experience of payments services and infrastructures from a fast paced tech organization, financial services infrastructure provider or big bank.
- Successful track record of developing solutions and strategies within deadlines.
- You are an expert of payments infrastructures and solutions.
- You are well oriented in the different solutions and service-providers worldwide.
- You have experience to decide when to partner up, buy or build.
- You might not be an engineer, but you understand technology and can talk to engineers.
- You are organised, have attention to detail and the ability to get things done.
- You are data driven and curious with no prestige - you focus on solving problems and ensure the team succeeds over personal wins.
- You are a great communicator and seek to understand people before being understood.
- To accomplish this you will lead, coach and hire additional experts in this field.
