Director of Platform

Lifesum is growing, and the engineering team is no exception, which is why we are looking for a Director of Platform to be the strategic leader for work with our platform and to guide and coach the team to perform at their absolute best.

We are a company of 75 people, and we are working with Apple, Google, Samsung, Nike, and more, so we are looking for someone who wants to play with the best and prove it's where Lifesum belongs. Responsibilities and what you will do:

Today, there are 11 engineers working with the platform, site reliability, DevOps, infrastructure, data, and web. It's a very talented team with both high skill and potential, so a big part of your role will be coaching and helping the team grow, while also trusting them to be masters of their own domain. In this position, you will:

- Make sure that you and your team execute on Lifesum's technical and product roadmap in an effective way
- Set strategy for the platform team and coach the team to make it happen
- Improve the Lifesum platform and ensure that it runs in the best possible manner
- Set a plan for evolving the Lifesum platform into a true microservices architecture
- Manage and coach the existing team as well as hire new talent


Are you the one we're looking for?

To be successful in this position, we believe that you have:

- Prior experience building and leading a team
- Five years of experience with development, with at least three years spent working with Python
- Experience working with AWS
- Worked in several companies where you have developed an opinion around creating the most productive work environment, along with a willingness to voice this opinion.


If you - on top of all this - have worked with Google Cloud and dabbled with machine learning, natural language processing, or data products in general, that is a huge plus! Likewise, if you have worked before in the consumer mobile space. Of course, we would be even happier if you have an interest in either health and fitness or food, but if you would rather chill on the sofa and watch Game of Thrones, you are equally welcome at Lifesum!
