We’re now looking for a Director of Product Design to manage, mentor, and grow our small but mighty design team. You will spearhead and evolve our product design strategy, language, and practices. You will lead by example to help your team produce work that is constantly raising the bar. Your passion and focus always put the user first. You have considerable experience designing great products that users love. You are a world class innovator, collaborator, and problem-solver.
This role reports directly to our Chief Product Officer, and is expected to shape the future of Hedvig's product offering for years to come.
What about the role?
Collaborate with our Product Management leaders to develop Hedvig's product vision and strategy looking five years into the future
Build Hedvig’s product design system from the ground up and make it accessible to everyone in the company
Establish and maintain tools and methods to ensure design consistency across Hedvig
Lead critical initiatives from start to finish, guiding your team and rolling up your sleeves as needed to deliver a stellar product to the market
Create the overall design vision for Hedvig together with your brand counterparts in the creative leadership team
Build lead and develop a world class team of product designers while promoting Hedvig’s creative culture of trust and empathy
What about you?
5+ years of experience leading design teams
A deep understanding of Hedvig’s design aesthetic
A passion for Hedvig, its products, and its members high expectations for design quality, from yourself and others
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles
Fluency in Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
