Right now, Seco Tools is looking for an experienced and business savvy professional for the position as Director of Strategy and M&A. Are you eager to grow and develop together with us, and have the possibility to advance your career with a solid industrial player? Then we welcome you to this truly global role with an exciting scope - right in the center of our dynamic and people-oriented business!
As one of the world’s leading suppliers of metal cutting products and solutions, we’re proud to join forces with our customers and help them navigate into a more digital, productive and sustainable future. Seco Tools had approximately 4 000 employees and presence in 75 countries.
About the job
As Director of Strategy and M&A, you take a key role in our growth agenda. You drive the overall company strategy process and support us in identifying, analyzing and evaluating strategic options, as well as advise on and shape initiatives, projects and partnerships in order to realize our strategic agenda. You do this through a structured process, taking a collaborative and inclusive approach, and working together with the organization. You also ensure success in our M&A processes - from scouting, due diligence, target setting, negotiation, deal closing and integration – and you keep the focus on revenue and profitability.
You continuously improve and refine our capabilities and processes, and build our competencies in the domain of strategy and M&A. You also collaborate and interact closely with our Seco Tools Executive Management team and with functional experts, advisors and various key stakeholders to bring all aspects to the table. As part of Sandvik Machining Solutions, you further make sure that all projects and activities support the overall strategic plans for the business area, and you build bridges with the Strategy and Business Development community across our other divisions within Sandvik Group.
In this role, you report to the Vice President of Strategy & Product Management and are a member of the Strategy & Product Management functional management team. In our global arena, we offer a flexible working location, although you’re preferably based at any of our Seco Tools or Sandvik offices.
About you
We need someone with a relevant academic degree and a background in management consulting or from similar strategic roles. You’re skilled in strategic analysis, and have experience from working with M&As. An understanding of the manufacturing industry is valuable, and you’re eager to learn about our market and the opportunities and challenges we’re facing. You also comfortably interact with executives and our broad range of stakeholders. We operate worldwide, and this calls for an open mind and cultural awareness. You’re used to collaborating and driving strategic initiatives across both functions and borders and you need excellent communication skills in English.
You have a tactical, structured and commercial mindset, and this makes it easy for you to prioritize, decide, move forward and establish change. By considering options and spotting potentials, you challenge us to look at new perspectives, and you enjoy being one of the architects behind our strategic agenda. You’re also a truly networking and collaborative person – someone who embraces open communication, strong relations and inclusive teamwork. Add a passion for development and an ambitious drive to reach results, and you’re the one we’re looking for!
