The Strategy and Business Development department within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has the overall responsibility for global business intelligence and business development, and we ensure consistent and up to date information on market and business trends combined with internal expertise to drive our business forward. Now we’re looking for an experienced and business savvy professional to join us as Director of Strategy and Market Intelligence. Briefly about the job
In this position, you act in close collaboration with our nine divisions and fourteen sales areas to create true value and enhance the business further - and you do this by challenging and supporting us in finding new paths to being an industry leader. Your mission is to lead a highly competent and performing crew of five, all working towards a common goal. Your main objectives are:
Facilitating and driving strategy development
Together with the team and internal stakeholders from around the world, you support the annual strategy development cycle as well as manage cross-divisional projects.
Leading the business area’s Market Intelligence team
This team provide the business with relevant market information, leverage our databases, analyze our competitors and gather industry news and other important insights. Naturally, they also keep a close eye on trends and current events in different markets and help turn information into actionable insights. Your job is to create the best possible setting for them to do their job.
This position is based at our Sandvik headquarters - World Trade Center - in Stockholm, and extensive travel is included in your job.
This is what we see in you
We’re looking for someone with a university degree within Industrial Engineering and Management, Finance or Business Administration. In addition to your education, you have 7-10 years’ work experience from similar roles within larger organizations, such as in management consulting or another global company. This includes a solid track record of successfully leading people and teams, as well as driving business growth and change. Interest in data analysis and fact-based decision making is key, and working in a global setting calls for excellent skills in English, while knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
Your strategic mindset and analytical features enable you to easily spot the details we need to get to the next level. Good stakeholder management and excellent communication are fundamentals in this job, and you know how to effectively interact with large groups of people with diverse backgrounds and opinions. You’re an inclusive and coaching leader, challenging and encouraging your colleagues to move forward, and you enjoy witnessing their development. You have an eagerness to learn, which comes in handy as you occasionally, on short notice, have to be present in a completely new geographical region and quickly need to catch up on their current situation. This combined with your genuine interest in our business is one of the ingredients for success in this job!
