Director Partnerships & venture collaboration – VG Connected Solutions

The position


As Director Partnerships & venture collaboration you will lead innovation and growth initiatives through partnership collaboration and co-creation. Main responsibility is to proactively identify, validate and accelerate new partner-based business opportunities enabled by digital technologies and new business models. You will play a key role in creating the next horizon of sustainable growth for Volvo Group by leveraging our innovation ecosystem partners. The role requires an agile, networked-based leadership style and passion to create new values for our customers, Volvo Group, and society.
The position reports to the Vice President Innovation Lab and is a member of the Connected Solutions Innovation Lab management team.


Key Responsibilities
Collaborate and co-create with external partners, both scale-ups as well as start-up´s with the purpose of accelerating new growth within digital and connected services
Build and develop a team of people working with partner-based service growth & offerings
Strategize, Scout, validate, and select the right partners for the customer connect marketplace as well as for our new ventures
Collaborate with functions within Connected Solutions and with relevant commercial and engineering functions within the Volvo Group to enable successful execution and value creation at scale
Be an active member in Mobility X-Lab leadership team and actively work with our scouting partners in Europe
Be an active member of the Innovation Lab management team. As a member of the management team, you will be involved in developing the global Innovation Lab function.

Your profile


To qualify for this role, you should have experience from:
Experienced in working with external partners including, large strategic partners and small start-up´s, to create new service business offerings
Proven experience and understanding of methods such as business model design, Venture investments and/or merger and acquisitions frameworks
Proven experience of data driven business models and related challenges and opportunities
Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to formulate new business propositions to executive leadership
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience and proven record of developing new partner-based digital services
Successful in building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team.

You are a social person with strong relationship capabilities and enjoy working with others in flexible team constellations. You have a passion for business, entrepreneurship, digital technologies, and people.
You have a Master’s degree or equivalent as the basis for your career. You are fluent in English. International business experience is a merit. The successful candidate will have shown a winning attitude and great persona in combination with a strong record of accomplishment and references.
