What you'll do
Reporting into the IT Leader R&D Life Sciences, Digital Engineering Technology, this role will directly lead detailed IT planning and implementation activities for business applications. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for delivery processes, delivery capability, and delivery resources (technologists and project/program managers). This role will be accountable for the delivery of multiple programs & support activities in the Life Sciences R&D/CTO area.
Act as subject matter expert for assigned area processes and supporting applications functionality and primary liaison to functional managers and Project stakeholders
Accountable for project initiation and completion within functional area by directing activities of others as well as maintaining individual project responsibilities
Deliver business value by implementing the solution, using BioPharma project methodology
Drive and be accountable for success and operational excellence of the programs in NPI area including financials, stakeholder management, communications to LS leadership, SLA management, resource management, vendor management etc.
Work closely with R&D Opex leader to ensure program and applications support activities, including the development of internal and external communications, establishing roadmaps and benchmarks, and developing training plans are managed
Work closely with central PMO to ensure we are meeting all process needs and metrics and ensuring we keep systems like PPM updated and in order for financial reporting and program metrics
Responsible for people management activities including performance management (Priorities, Insights and mentorship)
Effectively engage global teams and experts to enable, create and propose technology designs and solutions
Establish a governance structure that identifies key performance indicators, sets milestones, and establishes a reporting cadence
Lead and participate in the various IT governance calls and partners with the business to prioritize the business needs
Drive initiatives across LS-R&D enabling efficiency and benefits for the business
Demonstrate solution delivery expertise for the design and implementation of assigned enterprise application areas in R&D/NPI for LS business
Proactively identify and resolve issues and make recommendations for improvements to existing processes
Drive and Transform (applicable parts of) application portfolio from a project based operating model approach to product based approach by developing and implementing new ways of working e.g devops operational model.
Who you are
Experience of working with process quality methodology
Demonstrated program management skills including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication
Project management experience in global environments
Coordinate efforts in line with the "bigger picture" to maximize the overall value of IT service delivery and demonstrated history resolving conflicts in priority
Awareness of and ability to deliver compliance requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated experience in owning NPI related programs (specially Product Lifecycle management applications)
Demonstrated ability to excel in a global matrix organization
Strong leadership skills
Hands on vendor management experience
Analytic, creative and business focused problem solver
MBA or BE / Btech /BS Degree in Information Systems or related technical discipline or equivalent or equivalent knowledge or experience
Ability to learn complex systems and business processes and define requirements for solutions
Understanding of IT technologies and how to apply them
Desired Characteristics
Black Belt certified or related certification
MBA or equivalent knowledge or experience
Leadership Training Program Experience (IMLP, OMLP, FMP or equivalent)
Experience in the healthcare industry
Lean experience
PMP / ITIL certified related certification
