The world around us is changing which impact the ways we do business. There is an increasing protectionism from the superpowers, almost like a trade war, creating trade barriers on technologies and business relations that can be used for espionage and terrorism.
Civil products that can be used for military purposes are called dual-use products. Our global Export Control team secures that the Volvo Group have compliant and effective tools to trade with sensitive items, both military and dual use. We work across the Volvo Group and support all Truck Divisions and Business Areas.
One of our team members is stepping into a new exiting role. It means that we are looking for a new colleague!
If you have experience from export control or good product knowledge, with experience from product development, or maybe have been working with regulatory affairs, patents, sales, or marketing and would like to grow into a role as a specialist within compliance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! In our team, you will be looking for export risks in the early product development phase, working cross-functionally with sales, legal, technology and operations.

Key Responsibilities as Export Control Specialist
The main responsibility in this role is to secure that export of products and components comply with the export control regulations, spanning from high level compliance requirements to specific technical evaluations and issues in the supply chain. The role has focus on export control analysis and risk management.
Our aim is that in time you will be able to:
Drive the Enterprise Risk Management for Export Control with the purpose to identify current and potential risks within our area
Monitor and evaluate changes in laws and regulations related to Export Control in order to balance risks for the Volvo Group and update our processes.
Participate in identification of current and potential risks regarding export control in early stages of product development
Take an active role in investigations, projects and task forces with representatives from various functions within the Volvo Group such as Legal Departments, Sales divisions, Technology departments and Operations on specific export control matters
Who are you?
We think you have a solid experience from product development, regulatory affairs, or engineering. Part of the job is to understand and interpret regulations and being able to explain them to others. For this position it is valuable to be able to see both holistically and dive into details when needed.
We are looking for a person who is a skilled communicator, who enjoys networking and feel confident and comfortable being a spokesperson.
We think that you have a university degree in Engineering, Logistics or Law.
English is required, both verbally and written.
If you speak Swedish and/or French it is a merit.
Once we can go back to traveling there will be some occasions for that in this position.
