With growing demand for behavioural science and social innovation towards creating a sustainable energy future, Smart Innovation Norway wishes to strengthen its capabilities in this area.
The successful candidate for this position will join our team in Halden and work with a number of clients and partners from all over Europe being part of our communications team and have a close link to the Social Innovation Team.
Our ideal candidate will have expertise in communications and be able to bridge the theoretical understanding of customer and societal dynamics with designing and implementing concrete strategies to communicate and engage people and market actors in the energy industry.

The position will consist of:
- Designing concrete activities and strategies to engage all actors of the energy value chain
- Leading interdisciplinary collaboration processes in an international environment
- Producing both thorough high-quality reports and concise, easy-to-understand written and visual deliverables
- Verbally communicate findings to a wide variety of internal and external audiences
- Structuring and organising communication activities such as webinars, workshops, exhibitions and fairs together with internal teams and external partners
- Create and handle SoMe strategies for international research projects
- Create and handle online newsletters and deliver articles, interviews and engaging communication on research activities within the energy industry
- International travel will be required

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is:
- A degree in communication or similar with an academic focus
- Preferably, you have worked in areas related to energy and/or consumer insights
- Interest in green technology and the green energy transition
- You easily decipher the big picture and can communicate and describe it in simple terms
- Comfortable in academic reporting and in developing communication and engagement strategies and transform them into action
- Comfortable with dealing with technical descriptions
- Ability to manage large initiatives with various teams and stakeholders
- Excellent written and spoken English. Professional knowledge of Scandinavian languages is an advantage

The successful candidate for this position will join our team in Halden and work with a number of clients and partners from all over Europe and India. You'll be a part of a small and energetic Communications Team. Our ideal candidate will have interest in the social sciences or humanities and be able to bridge the theoretical understanding of customers and technologies, market actors and governance structures and design, and implement communication strategies in big research projects and smaller national projects.

Personal characteristics:
We are looking for you who have excellent communcations skills, and a systematic approach to your work tasks.
You have good analytical skills, you can understand complex questions and problems and make sound and rational assessments.
On the other hand, you are creative and quick in developing new concepts and ideas, and develops an ambitious but realistic business vision and transforms it into one feasible strategy.
Since you will be working in interdisciplinary and large teams, it's necessary that you are able to convinces and persuades others and get impact for ideas and plans.
