Principal duties:
The successful candidate will work on machine learning-based methods for analysing data com¬ing from multiple sensors installed in intelligent environments/homes with the specific goal of discovering patterns of ?expected? activity of an intelligent home resident as well as detecting and categorizing long- and short-term deviations. This will entail developing novel methods and algo¬rithms for combining information (often uncertain) coming from different sensors, discovering interesting relations in the available data, evaluating their usefulness, and finally exploiting resul¬ting algorithms to increase safety and comfort of intelligent home residents.
The research will be performed in close collaboration with our industrial partners as well as Ulster University in Belfast and Northeastern University in Boston.
The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out some teaching and administrative tasks within the school.

Qualification:
The position is intended for someone with a master?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related fields. Desirable skills include expertise in machine learning, data mining, and signal processing.
