At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, research and education are conducted in business administration, industrial engineering and management, resource recovery, building technology, and within the textile field: design, management, and technology.

The Faculty has five departments: the Department of Business Administration and Textile Management, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology, the Department of Textile Technology, and the Department of Design. At the Faculty, there are two research schools, in Resource Recovery and Textile and Fashion.

The Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology is seeking a doctoral student in Resource Recycling with a Specialisation in Biotechnology.  

The doctoral studentship employment is part of a research project funded by the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, and it includes studies and development of in vitro digestion simulation to study the digestion and health effect of filamentous fungi in human and animals.

Job description
The duties include doctoral education within biotechnology and it is about edible fungi and their health effects in human and animal digestive systems. The doctoral student will develop the bioprocess for in vitro study of the digestive systems. In addition to doctoral studies, as agreed upon, departmental duties, including teaching, research and administration, can amount to up to 20% of full time.

Qualifications
For employment within the project, an applicable Master's degree in Biotechnology or relevant fields is required.

We are looking for someone with good collaboration and initiative-taking qualities, an ability to work independently and in a structured way, as well as the ability to prioritise among work tasks. You should be able to communicate well in both written and spoken English.  

Employment takes place under the condition that the applicant fulfils the requirements and is accepted as a doctoral student. Admission takes place at the University of Borås.
