Doctoral Students in Business Administration

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is one of four schools within Jönköping University.

The mission of Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three simple principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action. JIBS offers a range of Bachelor and Master Programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Informatics. JIBS has 85 faculty members and 14 operations staff serve some 1.600 full-time students, including approximately 350 international exchange students. JIBS currently has 61 active PhD candidates.

WORKING TASKS

As a PhD student, working full-time, the major part of your time is devoted to your doctoral studies. This includes coursework and writing your doctoral thesis. A minor part of your time is devoted to teaching and administrative tasks.
The positions are in the general area of Business Administration, including Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Logistics, Organization, Marketing and Strategy. QUALIFICATIONS
As applicant you need to have a passed exam at advanced level (Master or Second). You also need to have fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credit points (ects credits), 60 of which should be at the advanced level. Requirements also include a Bachelor degree, consisting of at least 90 credit points, in Business Administration, or equivalent education.

We particularly seek candidates who have the ambition to pursue an international research career and wish to combine a high level of academic scholarship with research that has empirical and practical relevance.
The applicants need to be fluent in both written and spoken English. As an international business school, we also value skills and experience in other languages and cultures, and it is considered an additional merit for applicants to have prior work experience.
