About us at Power Solutions

Scania Power Solutions is a provider of specialized engines derived from Traton’s truck engines. We provide engines to applications within the Industrial, Marine and Power Generation segment. In line with Scania’s main focus areas, we are expanding the portfolio by focusing on electrification and connectivity.

Power Solutions is a provider of sustainable power solutions and services to the worldwide market. We supply around 12 000 engines per year to “single engine buyers” as well as large corporate original equipment manufacturers, OEMs. Common applications are: Excavators, Wheel loaders, Stone Crushers, Power-Generation, Marine propulsion, Compressors etc.

Role and responsibilities

The definition of an Application is ”the specific purpose for which something is used” and as an Application Engineer, your main responsibility is to secure that our product’s performance meets the requirements of the customer application. This means different expectations for an excavator, dump truck or rescue boat all powered either with combustion engines or electrical and hybrid power trains. You bring out the best in our products to the customer!

On a daily basis, this means that you will work globally with our new and existing strategic customers in their switch for future products in their development projects. Throughout their project, you will offer technical support in order for them to achieve a Scania-approved installation, so that they can start serial production with the best optimized installation. You will travel roughly 10-20 days per year.

Your profile


• Driven as well as structured and analytical.
• Can communicate well in English, both written and spoken.
• Technical academic degree or similar work experience.
• Technically interested with a strong customer focus.
• Knowledge about combustion engines, electric drivetrains and control systems is highly valued.
• Experiences with customer relations and general customer communications is merited.
