Would you like to be part of ensuring that Nordea is being data driven in sanctions compliance? We are now looking for an experienced professional with understanding of the customer lifecycle to be driving key data improvement initiatives that ensure sanctions controls function optimally.
About this opportunity
Welcome to the Sanctions Data & Analytics team. We add value by combining an understanding of business and stakeholder needs with knowledge about sanctions data to provide insights and data-driven solutions to support Nordea’s sanctions risk management and ensuring the data used for sanctions controls is well governed. As the GFCP Master Expert focused on data improvement, you will play a valuable role in uplifting the data landscape to utilise more strategic solutions and reduce complexity across the Customer & Counterparty value chain, while securing robust controls to manage sanctions risks.
What you’ll be doing:
* Translating business needs and strategic drivers into tangible data improvement deliverables, connecting business context to the data landscape
* Facilitating dialogues across business, data and technical value-chains to support an aligned approach to strengthening processes and controls relying on data
* Driving ideation and development of new capabilities in collaboration with the team and other relevant stakeholders to support strategic execution
* Driving and participating in data-related change work to improve how it is used by systems or end users.
* Providing expertise and sparring for team members and as part of projects, acting as a subject matter expert for sanctions data and analytics

You’ll join a team of data-minded colleagues who leverage the unique skills and knowledge of each team member to continuously improve on our capabilities and deliver relevant insights for the organisation. The role is based in Helsinki, Stockholm or Tallinn.

Your experience and background: 
* Experience in the Financial or IT/Technology industries and familiarity with common banking industry concepts and processes. Knowledge of customer lifecycle and related data is a very strong advantage
* Experience in project or change work, capturing and understanding stakeholder requirements and driving changes according to plan
* Knowledge in sanctions compliance/financial crime prevention is a strong advantage
* Skilled user of MS Excel and PowerPoint
* Understanding of data and analytics tools such as Hadoop and PowerBI, and languages such as SQL, Python and R considered a strong advantage
* Advanced English spoken and written communication in a very international and diverse team environment
* A subject-relevant degree or equivalent work experience
