E-mobility Software Engineer

E-mobility Software Engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

It’s electrifying!

We work with technology that matters

Do you want to join the Semcon electrification journey towards a sustainable future? We are continuously looking for new colleagues within the area of e-Mobility and associated fields, so this might be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

The e-Mobility team at Semcon in Gothenburg is a group of engineers passionate about creating products and services that make a difference for users, suppliers and the climate. More specifically, we develop technical solutions for electric vehicles (cars, trucks and machinery) and investigate how this technology will change usage patterns and requirements on infrastructure. Although specializing in different aspects of electrification, we collaborate tightly with colleagues focusing on applied autonomy, connected solutions and digitization.

Assignments are typically based at the customer site or at our head office at Lindholmen, Gothenburg. Most people currently work from home due to the social distancing guidelines.

You can read more about one of Semcon electrification offerings (https://semcon.com/offerings/electrification/) with respect to machinery at our website. An example of an ongoing engagement is our partnership with STILRIDE (https://www.stilride.com/), who develops electrified scooters.

To be successful in this role, you need a MSc in Electrical engineering, Computer science, Mechanical engineering or similar field and we expect you to have at least two years of relevant experience. You have a very good understanding in one or several of the areas listed below and preferably specialize in one of them, you communicate well and thrive in a consultant role.

- Li-ion batteries
- Software development
- High voltage systems
- Electric motors
- Power electronics
- Charging systems

Experience in project management, functional safety, model-based function development, real-time simulation or perhaps requirements management, control technology and Systems Engineering is an advantage. You don’t have to be a software developer, but experience from coding is required in order for you to succeed in this role.

Note that you must be based in the Gothenburg area, Sweden.

Join us if you...

Want to make difference. At Semcon we work with the fragile birth of new ideas to all the nitty gritties that need to be designed, engineered and developed to make great product and service experiences come alive. A vast responsibility but also a unique opportunity to make a difference in peoples’ lives; to guide our customers towards a more sustainable and human-centric future.

Want to work with fun and challenging assignments. We work at the forefronts of e-Mobility and applied autonomy, are engaged in product development projects as well as different research initiatives.

Value great colleagues. We want to do great things. Together. Working with great colleagues who provide new ways of thinking, not necessarily always agreeing with you. We value balance in life, diversity, kindness, getting things done, learning fast, having fun and sharing our knowledge.
