Join us as EcoDesign Engineer in Stockholm and be a part of developing our safe signaling platforms! Together we develop the sustainable and safe transport solutions of tomorrow.
As an EcoDesign engineer, you will be a key player to ensure the sustainability of our electronic rail signalling platforms, and to minimize the environmental impact over the entire lifecycle. The work is carried out in close collaboration with both our product development programs and the customer implementation projects. Being part of the global Alstom development community, we contribute to the quality and safety of our systems and solutions world-wide.
Purpose of the job
The mission of the EcoDesign Engineer is to provide sustainability expertise to the organization, and to lead and carry out the EcoDesign analysis in the product development and in the customer delivery projects.
Main responsibilities
Ensure EcoDesign expertise in development of product platforms and in realization of customer delivery projects
Carry out EcoDesign activities, like legal requirements monitoring and analysis, life cycle analysis, monitoring of substances, material declaration and other documentation
Contribute to EcoDesign strategy and to the continuous improvement of methods and processes in the area
Maintain and contribute to the Environmental Management System according to ISO14001, and contribute to compliance assessment
Work together with systems engineering to capture sustainability life-cycle requirement and align them with the product design and product management
Work together with HW engineering to define material data for product components
Deliver sustainability documentation and contribute to the configuration management as necessary
Your background
You have a strong background in Sustainability engineering within Embedded Systems development, or other experience in Embedded (maybe as hardware designer or systems engineer?) and a very strong drive for Sustainability. Your background is preferably from Rail solutions, but other electronics development businesses are also of interest.
You are a communicative team player with good drive, that can coordinate work tasks and operate cross-functionally. You are quality-driven and curious, and value learning and developing.
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in sustainability or electronic engineering, or equivalent
Documented experience from sustainability engineering or other development of embedded systems or electronics, at least 3 years (mandatory)
Experience in sustainability engineering and analysis methods (mandatory)
Knowledge of ISO14001 and EcoDesign legal demands (bonus)
Knowledge about Cenelec Standards for Safety (or equivalent standards if needed: AREMA, IEEE, European TSI, etc ) and safe system design (bonus)
Very good command of the English language, orally and in writing (mandatory)
Command of the Swedish language (bonus) or strong drive to learn Swedish
