Role Summary/Purpose
The role of EHS Controller is a position within the EHS Department in Uppsala. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and manage actions takes to fulfill compliance with the Uppsala site?s environmental expectations and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities
Essential in this role will be your ability to engage and communicate with a number of key functions and activities to ensure compliance.

The Environmental, Health and Safety department at GE Healthcare Life Sciences in Uppsala is in the process of revising and renewing its way of working. Your key responsibilities will be to ensure effective communication with the Uppsala site?s various regulators in order to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Key areas of responsibility include organizing and reporting information on greenhouse gas emissions and contaminated soil as well as compiling and authoring annual environmental reports. Responsibilities will also include the investigation of incidents, near misses and Concern Reports as well as coordination of the Site?s Seveso activities. Coordination and administration of activities aimed at maintaining compliance with environmental legislation will also be a key function of this position.

Qualifications/Requirements

Master's Degree in chemistry, environmental science, chemical/environmental engineering or related field
Experience from relevant chemical industry, preferably heavy chemical manufacturing
Knowledge of Swedish and European environmental legislation
Experience in environmental discussions and environmental reporting to authorities (including Annual Environmental Reports)
Very good Swedish and English
Self-motivated, responsible and comfortable in independently making decisions
Good communication capability
EU work permit

Experience in leading an organization through practical EHS solutions
Familiarity with tools and processes used to control emissions to air, water, noise, etc
Compliance audit skills
