The Wire and Heating Technology product area currently leads the world in the manufacture of stainless steel wire, plus metallic and ceramic high tech, heat resistant materials used in, for example, welding, medical applications, electrical heating of household appliances and industrial ovens.
Quality - EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) is a department staffed by five Quality Engineers and EHS Coordinators. The work focuses on routines and work methods in order to achieve world-class safety and health standards. At the same time, the department conducts a program to ensure good control of the global organization's work environment performance. We are now looking for an experienced and knowledgeable work environment coordinator for our department in Hallstahammar.
Key performance areas
As an EHS Coordinator your primary responsibilities are to develop, introduce and follow up methods and SMT (Sandvik Materials Technology) standards in this area in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and other requirements. You will also provide Sandvik's organization support with respect to these issues.
Additionally, your responsibilities include to:
- Interpret laws, regulations and standards in this area, and apply them in the form of concrete routines and instructions within the management system
- Support the units with respect to daily and strategic work environment issues
- Study the operations in relation to the work environment and, where variances occur, analyze the results and suggest appropriate corrective measures
- Provide advice and support, as well as plan and lead projects, in the work environment area
- Ensure that work-related hygiene measurements are performed
- Be the contact person and the one who places orders with our external company healthcare providers, as well as the conduit for the company's rehabilitation work
- Oversee internal training in the area of work environment
- Actively work with our vision of zero accidents
Your profile
We expect that you are a trained work environment engineer or have equivalent experience from an international manufacturing industry. As work environment and safety are prioritized at Sandvik, it is essential that you are experienced and knowledgeable in the field. You have experience of change management and training personnel in organizations. Good knowledge of both Swedish and English, written and spoke, is a requirement for this position, as well as good skills in MS Office. Experience from an international manufacturing and/or coordination of outdoor environments is advantageous.
To be a good fit for this role, you must be driven and able to both work independently and prioritize where necessary. You are pedagogical and communicative, and can clearly describe and explain safety issues for personnel and managers, as well as explain the purpose of a system for work environment in a suitable manner. As this position entails many contacts, both internally and externally, it is important that you have good cooperative skills and like open dialogue. It's also important that you have strong integrity and can instill trust in your co-workers by being calm and stable.
