We are looking for a service minded senior accountant to support several of our European subsidiaries/branches with general accounting tasks, monthly closing processes, group reporting tasks and statutory reporting requirements. The senior accountant shall also make sure the entities are compliant with the group’s accounting policies and the group’s internal control framework and policies related to financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our reporting schedules and accounting policies
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Monthly group reporting (to group consolidation system)
• Preparation of annual reports for entities
• Reporting to authorities (VAT, statistical information, financial statements etc).
• Regular dialogue with resource centers which handles AP/AR transactions
• Reconciliation of payroll accounts in general ledger vs. payroll system including tax and benefits reporting to authorities
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Contact with local auditor
• Ad-hoc financial tasks

Job Requirements

• Higher education within accounting – Bachelor/Master degree in accounting or audit
• Min 5-7 years of relevant experience from accounting/auditing in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe
• Expertise in Swedish tax rules especially related to VAT and travel settlement regulations
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting rules is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Intermediate/advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Good command of written and oral English.
• Fluent in Swedish (written and oral)

The position sits in Stockholm but will report to Head of Ocean Accounting located in Oslo. Regular travel within Europe is to be expected with this role.
