For this role we are looking for someone with a genuine passion for engineering the best vehicles in the world. You will be working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company, leading the way in the hypercar business. You’ll work alongside accomplished, world-renowned engineers on perhaps the most exciting automotive programs in existence today.
In this position, you are responsible for the assembly/disassembly of our prototype motors. You will take an active role in motor development which includes teardown and inspection of prototype products, documentation, and reporting any findings. You will lead the motor prototype team and coordinate their work. You will work in close collaboration with our development engineers, test engineers and manufacturing engineers.
Responsibilities
- To lead motor prototype build programs and feedback on process improvement
- To coordinate and support build activities
- To assemble and disassemble motors, test assemblies/rigs, modify/fabricate prototype parts
- To conduct basic electrical and functional safety tests
- To follow build instructions and help improve/document build processes
- To support test/development engineers on motor testing and troubleshooting
- To inspect and troubleshoot prototype products including documentation and reporting of findings
- To assist in the maintenance and orderliness of the working areas
- To allocate materials and track part usage
Need to have
To be successful as a Lead Motor Prototype Engineer you shall have the following capabilities and experiences:
- Experience leading assembly or prototyping team
- Experience of assembly and disassembly of electric motors
- Experience in use of adhesives and varnish resins
- Experience in handling wires and windings and working with insulation systems
- Experience in handling magnets
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
- Ability to document build records, inspection findings, potential design improvements and engineering change requests
- Pride in a high standard of work
- Flexibility and ‘can-do’ attitude
- Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
- Fluent in English
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working in prototype development
- Experience in assembly of transmissions and cable harnesses
- Experience in use and installation of simple instrumentation or data logging systems
- Experience in CNC machining and resistance welding
- Experience in machining and/or fabrication
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
