Electrical and Electronic Component Engineer to the Space Industry!

About the position:

We are currently looking for a component engineer for our client within the space industry. As a Component Engineer you are the technical specialist for specific electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) component areas, both internally towards other parts of the organization and externally, towards suppliers and clients. You will act as a core team member in projects and proposals with support from project leaders and buyers. 

As a Component Engineer, your day-to-day tasks include:

Lead the supply activities in customer projects, including project specific mechanical parts and PCBs.
Act as point of contact for component related issues for customers.
Advise production with quick decisions regarding inventory, such as replacements of parts.
Lead the improvement and development of component engineering processes and tools.
Provide input regarding component engineering activities to project forecasts.
Calculate EEE-related costs of products in customer proposals.
Contribute to proposal documentation such as statement of compliance and technical proposal.
Advise the Chief Engineering Team in selection of components for new products and processes.
Communicate with and advises our EEE suppliers regarding existing and future components and technologies.
Assist in failure investigations that concerning EEE components.
Lead the activities related to specific types of EEE components, such as introducing new components in products.
Advise and directs the hardware engineering team in selection of components within projects with respect to availability, cost, and appropriate quality.

The ideal candidate:

The must-haves:

M. Sc. Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics, or corresponding relevant level of education/experience.
Basic understanding of electrical hardware design.
Good communication skills in dialogue and writing, both internally and externally.


The nice-to-haves:

Experience leading other functions within a process and/or project
Detailed understanding of the customer proposal process
Understanding of radiation effects on electronic equipment
Experience in component construction analysis
It is considered meritorious if you are fluent in Swedish, Finnish or German.

About the assignment:

This is a consulting assignment, which means that you will initially be employed by Friday. The ambition from the customer and Friday is that after 12 months you will be directly employed by the customer.
