Electrical Engineer

Ballast water treatment is one of the big growth potentials in the maritime industry, driven by environmental legislation. PureBallast – a system developed by Alfa Laval and Wallenius Water – prevents the spread of invasive organisms between the oceans. We have a market leading position since the launch in 2006, and we sell systems to ship owners and shipyards worldwide. We are in a very fast-paced market with rapid growth and will extend our team in an Electrical Engineer.

About the job

As Electrical Design Engineer in the PureBallast R&D team you will

* Perform R&D activities related to PureBallast system, components and subcomponents
* Execute electrical design, drawings and technical documentation needed for production
* Subject matter expert for explosion proof design and installation solutions on vessels that meet ATEX/IECEx requirements 
* Perform test, verification and design reviews
* Technical support for electrical design
* Stay up to date with new technologies, design methods and tools

* A good communicator and fluent in English both verbally and written

Qualifications & experience:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering with three years of knowledge and experience from electrical design
* Experience of electrical design in maritime or industrial environment is valued
* Experience of explosion proof design is valued
* Experience in EPLAN for electrical design drawings or similar is valued
