Job description
As an electrical engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, procurement, build, installation, support and development of electrical systems for customer projects. You will join a dynamic engineering department, responsible for standardizing control system programming, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human machine interfaces (HMIs), for the company’s products, as well as specifying process-control system requirements for customer quotations. Positioned within customer projects, you will be part of project groups, actively driving the electrical aspects of our customer contracts forward. For commissioning and start-up processes across customer sites around the world, there will also be some occasional international travel involved.
Qualifications and personal characteristics
Candidates should have relevant control system experience, and ideally documented knowledge in systems design and implementation based around the following:
- Proficiency with Ethernet IP and other communication networks and protocols
- PLC and HMI development
- Experience in control software design; knowledge of Allen Bradley, ABB and Siemens systems would be particularly advantageous
- Experience with writing specifications and in commissioning of electrical systems
For this position you will need to be qualified to degree level with an engineering discipline, or otherwise a secondary education with equivalent, relevant experience.
To succeed in this role, you should be naturally inquisitive and highly motivated with the ability to self-manage and drive projects forward. You must also be able to communicate effectively with colleagues from other departments and a global representative network.
